About Kel Elkins 

Kel Elkins is a Senior Data Visualization Developer with NASA’s Scientific Visualization Studio at the Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, Maryland. He collaborates with scientists to transform complex data from NASA missions into visual stories, drawing on observations from satellites and aircraft as well as results from large-scale supercomputer simulations. His work helps make NASA’s Earth and space science research more accessible to audiences worldwide.

Before joining NASA, Kel worked in aerospace visualization, developing animations and visualizations that helped communicate complex spacecraft and aircraft mission scenarios to both technical and public audiences. He holds a Master’s degree in Computer Graphics and Game Technology from the University of Pennsylvania and a Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering from Penn State University.
